Friends of the Haenertsburg Grasslands - FroHG - is a volunteer group dedicated to the conservation of the unique grasslands and related ecosystems near Haenertsburg, Limpopo Province. FroHG is a registered non-profit organisation (209-267 NPO) and relies on support from its members, sponsors and the public to carry out its mission of conserving one of South Africa's most threatened ecosystems.

  • FroHG arose from a small group of volunteers called HEMAG - Haenertsburg Environmental Monitoring and Action group. This informal grouping has agreed to give way to FroHG as it has the benefits of a formal constitution.

  • FroHG finalised its constitution in August 2007 and was officially launched on 24 September 2007.

  • The constitution was amended in 2015.

  • FroHG cooperates with the Botanical Society, the Custodians of Rare and Endangered Wildflowers (CREW) and the Tzaneen Eco Club.
